Fiddling around in the fediverse.

I like books, music, and video games. Gemini protocol is also pretty neat.

Also been playing the remake of the original SaGa Frontier on Steam Deck. Have the original PS1 version but find handhelds easier to play these days. Still love the battle system, still have mixed feelings about turning over every rock to find the trigger for the next event in the story. =p
Wound up grabbing Milano's Odd Job Collection. Very unexpected release but it works well on Steam Deck. Basically a relaxing collection of mini games as a girl works part time jobs over the summer while staying at her uncle's place.
I forgot to mention that I really like how my mage looks like she's giving monsters the finger when she's casting spells. =p

Found a game that kinda reminds me of Scarmonde. Dungeon Antiqua 2 has that FFV job system thing going combined with a lot of dungeon crawling and minimal story. Just explore, fight stuff, and tweak your character. Far less skills and combinations than Scarmonde. So maybe it's a Scarmonde-lite. Fun way to kill 10-15 hours, though. =)

Can't comment on the first Dungeon Antiqua as I've never played it.

Also, first article here (Crystal Project!):

It's a turn-based RPG with a ton of exploration, jumping puzzles, and very customizable party comps.

I dated the article March 17 because I thought things would go up later, so let's all pretend it's the 17th. Greetings from the future I guess?

Pennywhether's spiffy game site - Crystal Project

Crystal Project is a really spiffy turn-based RPG.

Been playing a bit of Caves of Lore and it's pretty good CRPG with some older D&D vibes. Not a huge amount of traits for characters yet that I can see so just pushing them down fairly standard fantasy tropes for classes. Only been playing a couple of hours so mostly riding the vibe wave right now, but it's been pleasant enough so far.
Ooooo, found the multi class shrine in Scarmonde. No idea how I want to hybridize.

Got a few hours further into Scarmonde and found a world map. It looks pretty big, but is kind of deceiving because there can be quite a few sections where you'll be, "I've got a feeling about that square!" then walk over it and you go to a whole new area to explore, usually with good loot.

Also, there's no obvious where to go next thing. I'm just wandering which makes sense in the context of the story.

Also did a boss fight. Buffs and debuffs matter a lot in this game!

Wound up getting Scarmonde from the Steam sale, and it's a dungeon crawler RPG that I think will slide under the radar of a lot of people. Pixel graphics reminiscent of the early NES Final Fantasy games and a similar battle system. Lots of options for classes, and a giant dungeon to explore. Fun for people who want to find loot, have a wander, and bash monsters over the head. =)
Outlaw Star anime turns 25 this year. Time goes by too fast... =(
