I haven't been excited by tech coming out recently but I have inexplicably ordered the iPod knockoff that's apparently popular on TikTok because I can replace the internal microSD card with a bigger one, dual boot its main firmware with Rockbox (assuming it's on the right fw version) and then have a very lightweight actual music player for work that won't distract me as much as my phone always does. Maybe. I'm also curious to stick TV show episodes on it
one of the sparse advantages of DVD in the modern day is that I can rip an entire 7 seasons of TV, 176 45-minute episodes plus special features in 338GB. With Blu-rays you'd hit 338GB after like two seasons.
Been getting into
#DS9 for the first time and wow the Cardassians are kinda Israeli-coded aren't they
My dad wants me to check out his PC that suddenly stopped turning on. It's a Dell Optiplex 790 I ordered him off the internet a few years ago, swapped in an SSD. I'm a bit out of my depth because I'm not actually very smart on the electronic principles side of things, even if you handed me a multimeter I wouldn't know how to use it or what to check. It *could* be the power supply going out, but if it is, I'd have no way to verify that... And if it is, it could've burnt out the motherboard...
hey does anybody want these old video production textbooks from 2006/2008 that I stole from my high school years ago
