she was beautifully adapted for life in another planet, but the natural genius she had for conducting affairs there was of no real use to her here

Hey, my friends from Mass, Elizabeth Warren has co-signed this bill, which I think is a huge mistake. I just sent her a message about it, and it would be great if you could, too.

Congress Amended KOSA, But It's Still A Censorship Bill

A key Senate committee voted to move forward one of the most dangerous bills we’ve seen in years: the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). EFF has opposed the Kids Online Safety Act, S. 1409, because it’s a danger to the rights of all users, both minors and adults.

All this will be for nothing. We will have been for nothing. Defined by their histories, distorted to fit into their narrative, until all that is left of us are the monsters in the stories they tell their children.”

Captain James Flint

“This is how they survive. You must know this. You're too smart not to know this. They paint the world full of shadows... and then tell their children to stay close to the light. Their light. Their reasons, their judgments. Because in the darkness, there be dragons. But it isn't true. We can prove that it isn't true. In the dark, there is discovery, there is possibility, there is freedom in the dark once someone has illuminated it.
It’s talk like a pirate day, so here’s my favorite quote from Black Sails, the best tv show you probably haven’t watched:

Got to the third act of Baldur’s Gate 3, which takes place in the city of Baldur’s Gate (hope that’s not too much of a spoiler), and the city is just so well done. It’s big, it’s dense, it’s populated, and basically everything you would want to do in a city in a D&D game is there.

Also, my character may be too attractive. She’s in a committed relationship, but still getting propositions from a wide and weird array of people.

Never forget that we responded to the tragedy of 9/11 by bombing another country, and doing hate crimes on brown people here. And by denying first responders healthcare and benefits.

Also more than a million people have died of Covid in the US and they want us to forget about that as much as possible, so

We live in the city, in a loud neighborhood that frequently has fireworks, parties, and neighbors with full PA systems blaring either Latin pop or 90s R&B. Occasionally there are live DJs/bands. Which is why it is so weird that tonight there’s just one person somewhere in the neighborhood blasting smooth jazz, and, no kidding, pan pipes.
Catching up on a little post-vacation tv watching, and I need to remind you all to watch Reservation Dogs! It’s one of the best shows on right now, an inter-generational coming of age story with great writing and acting. It’s funny and sad at turns, but mostly it just lets you chill and be with its characters. It’s in its last season, so catch it while you can!
Are Ouija boards objectively the stupidest thing to be scared of? I mean, apart from mistaking a coat rack for a serial killer in a dark room. There are people who literally think you can summon a demon with a piece of cardboard trademarked by Hasbro, it’s ridiculous. Everyone knows the most demonic board game is Sorry.
Mini game review: Balder’s Gate 3. Yes, play it. If you like D&D, CRPGs, a good story, meaningful choices, companions with character development, great writing and acting, excellent encounter design, supposedly actually interesting evil character options (that I will probably never play), you will love this game. It really is as good as everyone says. It came out on PC a few weeks ago, it’s coming out on PS5 next week, I will have it on both, so if you want to play multiplayer, hit me up!
