Well, they say a change is as good as a holiday!
@gruber Re: Department of Spending Tim Cook’s Money. I would point out that Apple sells you a $2000 phone and gives 5GB free. Google does not sell many phones. Samsung sells a $2000 phone... and Google gives you 15GB free. This reminds me of when they put features of QuickTime behind a paywall. You bought a new $3000 Power Mac, and you had to pay extra to get QuickTime Pro to do what you used to be able to do for free. Nickel and Dimming is not a new thing to Apple!

I'm sorry everyone but we need to take back whatever we all said about Apple not doing machine learning right.

iOS 17's Photos app can now identify *and* explain laundry symbols in pictures and this is amazing. No more need for apps that do this; just swipe up on a photo.

@gerrymcgovern @asymco I would like to add that while it’s easy to blame massive cars, we can’t ignore that we have built city’s and roads for cars at the expense of pedestrians.
Way to go PayPal, send an email that is exactly what a phising email looks like, to teach people to click links in emails!
So @siracusa spent weeks asking ATP listeners to buy a Belive shirt and wear it in the keynote and then @marcoarment gets to be there, having the shirt on him and not wearing it because *checks notes* it didn’t match his WWDC outfit.
