Watching Elton John singing Crocodile Rock on The Muppet Show from 45 years ago, because it’s significantly better than anything on actual Australian television right now.. actually, that’s not quite true — there was a good film on one channel, but between the ads every 7 minutes and huge flashing graphics promoting shows I’ll never watch it quickly became unbearable. The contempt Australian commercial TV has for the programmes it shows, and by extension, the contempt it apparently has for its viewers, is astonishing.
