Professor of IT Law, UEA Law School. A bit of an idiot.

Great written evidence for German Parliament - https://t.co/G5ac5Qvaxx https://twitter.com/hackylawyER/status/1602202126096207874 @hackylawyer Key observation: "the key to [laws'] applicability and effectiveness
will be the extent to which law and policymakers can challenge and dissect the claims of Web3 promoters
to see their activities and institutions for what they are, rather than what they are claimed to be"

My paraphrase: if law and policymakers don't manage to cut through the bullsh*t, laws won't stop the damage of Web3.

Case in point: @paulbernalUK and I were the only people in the room explicitly questioning Web 3 claims in an event organised by DRCF (joint UK regulators) on the topic. See https://twitter.com/EerkeBoiten/status/1591761515677466626.

“Good to see blog report on DRCF (joint UK regulators) event on Web 3.0, but only tiny hints the event was highly unbalanced, with only @pirateorg's keynote independent, and nobody on panel challenging the ridiculous "use cases" for blockchain & crypto. https://t.co/LSJ0SO7AVb”
