On My Radar: March 2026

Hello! I've barely had time to peruse this month's new releases, but fortunately I had a bunch I added to my wishlist last year that I completely forgot about. Until now! If you'd like to know more about any of these books, links go to StoryGraph. Grabby Hands of Want Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez…

Record of Reading #3 – Cosy Fantasy, Mysteries, and Another T. Kingfisher

It's been a busy few weeks at work, so my reading is decidedly easy going right now. I managed to read ten books in January, thanks to an extended Christmas break. I doubt February will be so productive. It's still that time of year when everything I read easily slots into a challenge prompt, so I'm making good progress with them.

On My Radar: February 2026

The problem with having eclectic reading tastes is that I can't possibly keep up with all the new books that catch my attention every month. I feel like the Grabby Hands of Want category are the only ones I'll get round to any time soon, especially as I'm making a bit of an effort to read off my out of control TBR.

Record of Reading #2 – Scottish Magic and More Leviathan

Hello again. It's a miracle, I've actually done a weekly update two weeks in a row! I'm back to my more usual rate of reading this week with two books to report on. A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett I liked the first book in this series so much, I jumped straight into the next one. I loved learning more about where the grafts and augmentations come from, although it has left me with questions about…

Top Ten Most Anticipated: January – June 2026

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Looking through my wishlist, many of my most anticipated books of 2026 are coming later in the year. Which is weird, because I usually have way more that ten to add to this annual TTT topic. I guess I'll need to find some more books to keep me going till the second half of the year.

Record of Reading #1 – Robots, Murders, Problematic Romance, and a Roadrunner

A new year and a new attempt at blogging a little bit more frequently. Even if that attempt is only telling you what I've been reading and how that fits into the challenges I'm stumbling through. I'm adding my own This Challenge Killed the Bookworm and The 52 Book Club to the usual Around the Year in 52 Books and…

Top Ten: Winter TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Hello! 2025 has been a bit of a write-off on the blogging front, as you may have noticed. I’m keen to not fall into the three star read rut again (you know, when every book is decent but just not ticking the right boxes). I’m not caught up on all the exciting forthcoming releases of 2026 either, so I’m avoiding too much planning.

This Challenge Killed the Bookworm 2026

Most years I attempt the ATY and Popsugar reading challenges, but after a few weeks with the 2026 lists, I'm finding a lot of the books I'm excited about just aren’t gonna fit. So I thought, if Popsugar can have weirdly specific prompts, why can’t I? Scaled creatures Dark academia Faeries are bad Faeries are good Artificial stupidity intelligence Set far, far away…
