Seriously - if you're interesting in Hawkwind and your journey into their music ends with SPACE RITUAL, you're missing out. They made an absolutely insane amount of incredibly cool music.

#NowPlaying: Hawkwind, ASTOUNDING SOUNDS, AMAZING MUSIC. It says a lot about just how good Hawkwind were in the mid-seventies that they could record a completely unironic ten-minute song about becoming a werewolf and it absolutely rules.

I resolve to be even more of a weirdo in 2023
It is 2023 and it is time for KLAX

I really truly think a social media hack is enthusiasm.

People (maybe a majority) follow me on Twitter who have no career focus on computer security.
I follow farmers on YouTube just talking about their tractor repair tribulations with perseverance. I will absolutely never drive a tractor or put any direct tractor knowledge they give me into practice. But I care because they communicate larger fundamental insights into finding solutions.

This is a magic ingredient. You can't really fake it. And people know when they see it. It's one of those inescapably human manifestations the brain recognizes micro-signals from.

I messed up a few things about my build, but... game doesn't let you go back and change anything, and I am not going to play through this whole game again *just* to be able to beat a single boss.

Thank goodness for YouTube.

Ah, the joy of old video games. Been playing Knights Of The Old Republic for nearly fifty hours, and I think I'm softlocked at the final boss. I've tried to beat him about a hundred times, but I can't even come close. I'm at the maximum level, and I can't leave the area to get new equipment and/or items to make things easier.
Our mistake was turning them back on.

To clarify: Not modern in the "this could be on the radio today!" sense, because this is music that was clearly not designed for any sort of mainstream appeal.

I mean "modern" in the "You absolutely cannot tie this to any era" sense. If this album came out today, nobody would say it sounded like it was from the nineties. It sounds completely alien.

#NowPlaying: FILTH PIG by Ministry. A lot of people consider this album the "beginning of the end" for Ministry, but I absolutely love it. I love that, instead of just replicating the PSALM 69 sound, they made an album designed to melt you into the floor via sheer heaviness. It still sounds astonishingly modern more than twenty years after its release.
