My name is Andy and I'm from Belgium. Born in '76.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for over 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines, as well as the games they cover with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

@aCosmicWave
It depends really.
If a game really clicks with me, I do fully intend to go for everything that it has. My platinum in Sleeping Dogs and the way I was well on my way to a 1000 gamerscore for it again before abandoning Xbox altogether are a good example of that.

But those are the exceptions.
After a while other games and genres start calling for me, so I like to mix things up.
I definitely return to games though, but there can be quite a long time between them.

I don’t look at it as a backlog or even a collection but more like a library.
Always having something to play no matter what mood I’m in.
I only buy games that I actually do plan to play though.

@BigBlue1106

It just scratches that itch somehow.
I don't know what exactly. Just relaxing games with a specific atmosphere that sets a certain mood.

Oh, it was just the reveal for the first one.

But it’s one of my absolute favourites: Pin.Bot.
So I couldn’t be happier. 😊

Ah, that’s right.
In 20 minutes, 3 brand new Wiiiams tables will be revealed for Pinball FX.
Hopefully we’ll hear something about a native Switch 2 version as well.
Although that might be a bit premature.

@mrgrumpymonkey
This is actually one of the rare games that I fully completed back in the day.
They couldn’t tear me away from it for weeks.
Just and absolute joy and basically perfect in every way imaginable.
@picandocodigo
Ah, that's good!
Hopefully it's there tomorrow.
He also bought the train sim on the bottom right as I didn’t even know that one had released.
So now I have 6. 😅

My cousin just returned from Japan so now my Yoshi and Birdo have a new friend to keep them company. Jiji! 😊

@outofprintarchive I played A LOT of Virtual Fighter 2 growing up. Both on the Saturn and Arcade. Could never beat the Arcade cabinet version, but had no problems beating the Saturn version on the most difficult setting. Yet, a buddy of mine, at the time, would just coast through the arcade cabinet without issue. He was built different.

@mrgrumpymonkey

Truth be told, the arcade game actually scared me.
It was so intimidating as I wasn't used to VF at all since I never saw VF1 in arcades.
The depth and technique of it, despite having just 3 buttons really scared me. 😅

It wasn't until I finally got my Saturn in early 1997 alongside Fighters MegaMix, that I could finally play it in the "safety" of my own home.
Sucked at it nearly as much as Sega Rally, which also came with my system and which looked more like a pinball game the first couple of days I tried playing it. 😂

But man, did both games grab me.
And they never let me go.
The one game on Switch 2 that I'm looking forward the most is Virtua Fighter 5.
And I have it on PS3, 360, Xbox one and PS4 already.

@outofprintarchive At the time, the likes of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2 were the norm. So I'd understand being weary of trying something new. I think once Tekken became the 'norm' most of us slowly got used to the 3rd dimension.

@mrgrumpymonkey
Absolutely!
I loved both of them and even got Samurai Shodown and World Heroes on SNES for instance.

Virtua Fighter 2 was such a massive leap, it was really jarring.

And actually Tekken 1 was indeed my gateway into 3D fighters as I played in in the arcade not even 6 months before it released on PSone.

Of course, I had Toshinden on PSone before that, but I don’t really count that one amongst its two bigger brothers. 😅
