@[email protected] interesting stream of consciousness. Einstein was human and had to introduce a constant value in his formulas b/c he couldn’t conceive the universe was expanding. Working in the medical field I have seen research manipulated by the pressure of corporations, grants snd powerful individuals pushing for results that may not be data driven or the data was nudged to give favorable results that statiscally would have been negligible.

@adam I had SARS2 in January 2020 before there was a test for it. In March my SARS2 PCR test was 42 cycles and we thought initially to go with 45 cycles as positive. We eventually went with 35 cycles. PCR tests mean nothing if you cycle to 1,000. Everyone is positive in that scenario. The only reason labs went above 30 cycles was to increase the number of positive patients.

@adam The SARS2 virus which causes Covid can be distinguished from the influenzae virus A and B, and RSV. Only in the last 2 -3 years PCR amplification technologies without the need of extremely high temperature incubation and difficult extraction techniques by highly skilled Medical Technologists can we distinguish which virus is present. The cost and time has been reduced to where we can test everyone we want in an automated way that was impossible for most labs 5 years ago.
@augieray Sars2 has evolved, is no longer a new virus and 99.9% survive. The only risk is if one doesn’t have an intact immune system. Those individuals must take precautions even if SARS2 was not endemic
