I want to write fiction that explores why many sexual fantasies that feel comforting to one person often seem completely deranged, if not evidence of mental illness, when seen by others, and how this is a fundamental moral failing by modern society.

but I can't write any of it because the internet will simply extract [horrible action] from the fantasy that safely contained it and then accuse me of supporting [horrible action], no matter how absurd, and promptly destroy my life.

I often wonder how much art doesn't exist for similar reasons.

because to be quite frank, it takes quite a lot of coordinated efforts to set up and carry forth pride events at e.g big tech companies.

And to go through all that effort, just to be met with hostility from people who you presumed to be actual allies, is disheartening, and feels very wrong.

If you want to build a better world, if you want places everywhere to be more friendly towards these things, I personally don't think infighting over what is essentially puritanism, will do anyone a favour.
