At 1KOMMA5º we are looking for a freelancer in an adjacent team. Not much Ruby, but TypeScript, Next.js, etc. Just a well-versed senior.

If you know someone, please send them my way 🫶

How rude are you with your coding agents? I just said "try harder" because it was not responding, and now I feel bad - lol
"Verification debt" neatly captures one of my concerns about the trigger-happy AI engineering slop machines. Especially, but not exclusively, in tech. https://www.kevinbrowne.ca/verification-debt-is-the-ai-eras-technical-debt/
Verification debt is the AI era’s technical debt – Kevin Browne

Yes, everyone and their grandma have linked to the latest Technical Connections video. I just watched it too and indeed learned a few nice things about renewable energy thay I did not know or hadn’t realised yet.

But that’s not why this video is outstanding. I’m not going to spoil this for you. Part way through I just loudly applauded alone in my hotel room.

Yes it is long, it’s fine watching at 1.3x or a bit more, but it is absolutely worth your time.

You are being misled about renewable energy technology.

Let's learn and grow. New things are cool!Links 'n' stuff down below. Lots of links.First, the "clean version." Please pass that around.https://youtu.be/Zgxb...

“One day, you arrive at work only to find your team replaced by a hundred hyperactive teenagers. Those teenagers have googled everything and believe they know it all. They are excited about their first job, curious, restless, and eager to start working on their keyboards. Your task is to organize this team to achieve the same results much faster.”

Agentic IDEs - 100 Teenager Dev Problem

Imagine this situation: You are an experienced dev manager. You know how to assemble 15-20 adult software developers, analyze a moderately complex set of requirements, develop a project plan, break the work down, and delegate tasks across the team. You are capable of running appropriate SDLC rituals and delivering results on a predictable schedule. One day, you arrive at work only to find your team replaced by a hundred hyperactive teenagers. Those teenagers have googled everything and believe they know it all. They are excited about their first job, curious, restless, and eager to start working on their keyboards. Your task is to organize this team to achieve the same results much faster.

My fedi bubble is soo hardcore anti-AI and my work bubble is unhealthy pro-AI worshipping. I am still puzzled what to make of all of this. I feel change, but this uncertainty does not feel great.
