there should be a website where you select a subway line and it tells you all the good restaurants along that line
@ntnsndr presumably they're paying the gas costs for their users, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm not a huge fan of Farcaster because it's not build on open standards. They have their own ID system instead of using something like DIDs. AT_Protocol (from Bluesky) is a better solution, imo, but of course there's no reference implementation of that quite yet

I don't think farcaster is committed to interoperability, and unless I'm convinced otherwise, I won't be joining. it would be more compelling if it was build on DIDs and referenced via DID Document Service Endpoints

AT_Protocol seems much better, but still have to see what their DID method support ends up like. As long as they make it easy to add support for new DID methods (with some requirements) into their Bluesky client, it should be pretty cool

@Chronotope as long as it involves using a public key like that as an identifier, it'll never catch on

As you may recall:

• The W3C is in part hosted by MIT but MIT intends to withdraw on Dec 31.
• A new W3C nonprofit needs to take over on Jan 1.
• MIT needs to transfer assets (member dues, contracts, IP…) to the new W3C for it to operate.
• I was elected to the W3C Board and am part of the negotiations.

We're two weeks away from cutover and the negotiations are going… poorly. 🧵
