For example - Donald Trump. I loathe the man for everything he’s done and how much his influence has through the country of the USA that has done so much negativity to it. I truly still see him as a murderer of remote negligence for his handling of the 2020 COVID Pandemic, when there had been many leads that he could’ve taken than the one he took and how his party and voter base has demonized the WHO organization. I have very little specks of things to agree with him on and one of them is the migrant issue in America. We are seeing now, a bit of an issue when it comes to accepting so many migrants in the country. Like this year alone and even if it was temporary, some 2k migrants at a school in New York upset a community because the school was used to house them and scattered the students that in turn, angered parents. Even if it was temporary and even if it was protection from the weather, it still was yet another symptom of an issue in America where we are prioritizing way too much on migrants than we are focusing on solving our issues that happen to naturally born Americans. Migrants are housed before veterans who’ve signed to fight our wars. Migrants are employed before our own people. I don’t believe into the whole “DEY TOOK ER JERBS!” claim that I’ve heard years and years about. It’s more like, it’s been an enabling practice by companies that worsened the issue over time by hiring those who’re willing to work for less as long as they have a job, whenever an American simply wants better pay and benefits. I however, just do not agree with how he handled it or would’ve handled it if he stayed president. Building a wall that’s costly as is and for everyone to handle the burden because of said wall, a wall by the way, that has been bypassed numerous times. What would reinforcing it do? Nothing but waste money, time and effort. I do not agree with him in how he actually made a registration that only targeted muslims at one time. I just feel these two things are the wrong way to handle an issue and not a way to strengthen foreign policy. What we should be doing instead, is stop these companies from hiring the migrants with how they are. We should continue to stop foreign interests from taking up land in America when it’s not as okay to do the other way around. We need to be focusing on Americans more and our in-country issues, than mangling with foreign affairs because as we’re seeing all around us, the migrant issue is putting a strain on other countries including Canada. I just do not see anymore gain from continuing to take in migrants. Especially since you know, you put up with a lot of bad apples. The ones who’re antagonistic and love playing the xenophobe card as much as possible, just like the race card is abused. When, they’re in our country and our oblivious government allows it so because they foolishly think “it’s the future” because they refuse to improve the quality of life for naturally born Americans.

I think for me, the internet would have to be totally eclipsed by the enshittification process, for me to revise how I use it and what for. I’ve been online for 28 years now and I am beginning to slow down more and more as time goes on. I used to have been a community seeker, an explorer and a very curious person. But as I have watched and learned where the internet was going and all of the struggles it has faced. While personally having dealt with my own fair share of troubles with it, I am sometimes under the impression about being more than ready to hang it up and stick to just the minimalist way possible when it comes to the internet. And we’re talking, only watching YouTube/Netflix, coming on to Second Life to do whatever, only interacting with who I know and just making sure things are taken care of with online bills and such. Nothing more.

Mine right now off the top of my head is Adam Savage, former co-host of Mythbusters years ago. I sometimes watch his Tested videos whenever he answers questions and he answers them very thoughtfully. A lot of his thoughts, takes and answers based on his experiences and point of view on life and career has helped me be more grounded in my perspective as a worker. I’m not as much of a freelance worker as he is and I don’t do nearly a lot of cool things that he does that others also do too. But his knowledge and wisdom is seriously something to take into consideration and they’re things I like to try and borrow some aspects from to apply into my life so that I don’t feel as aloft in things as I used to. I just watched a recent video of his where he answered the question someone asked on the subject of When You Don’t Want a Better-Paying Position. And he went on to basically say, in summary as I perceived it, that sometimes in life the bigger and better positions isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. Like sure, having more money and being financially secure is never a wrong position in wanting to have. But you also need to find a platform where you’re happy with what you do and maintain a work/life balance while doing it. And just hearing all of what I heard in that video alone was inspiring to me so this man is definitely someone I see as a positive.

For example, I remember the time when American Idiot by Green Day came out in 2004. The song “Wake Me Up When September Ends” was everywhere on the radio. The song is about the death of the vocalist’s father dying when he was age 10. Yet, because that the song and album was released 3 years after 9/11 and 1 year since America started the War in Iraq, everyone associated that song with 9/11 more than what the song originally meant. And everytime I have listened to it, I just continue to associate that song with it’s original meaning and not because people randomly decided to make it about 9/11.
Man, so many antagonistic and passive aggressive people already. Yeah I already got the heads up over in KBin that some of you losers started to come over here to infect Lemmy and other Fediverse projects. Because that your holier than thou egos are so large that they’ve encompassed Reddit itself, so you decided to come over here.

I am almost about to concede defeat here. I was recently shadow-banned from Reddit as early as yesterday. For reasons I can’t narrow down but I have a handful of suspicions. All I know though is that as soon as I started talking about Palestine, combined with ruffling a few idiots up after I’ve already pledged to myself that I’d block antagonistic users and other similar things that contributed to my banning. And it was on an account where I tried to actually be a user, not looking to start shit. But Reddit is such a shitshow these days where any and all differing opinions you make, it’s analyzed and scrutinized. I thought I was really out of the forest where that 1 month length of time when you expect to be nailed down after returning on an alt. That people were supportive and didn’t jump on to me as readily. Yet you run into just a band of fat, lonely losers who live in places where all that they’ve got is just a computer and nothing else. Then it turns into a matter of when will you banned or when will you be shadow-banned. Reddit simply just does not like engagement unless it’s ego-stroking. And then you’ve got Spez who think it’s a wonderous idea to turn this shithole into a damn IPO. I hope it all fails in time.
