Is there a definitive list of defederated instances? Since this would be a dynamic list I would hope each instance has this linked on the main page, (ideally with justification on who the said instance was defedarated and why).

People post form Reddit, YouTube, Twitter, Software release... Reddit is no different taking frpm other sites. I don't think if it's automated or not matters. More content at this point is good. Taking from Reddit, (or any other sources), shouldn't matter. Ideally, the honorable thing to do is give the proper reference to your source, (or even better, from Reddi's source).

External Drives come with software now to help people sync the data, (for the less techincal).

You could also just manually copy the data by clicking and dragging.

I'm kind of a command line junkie so I use robocopy in scripts.
