An acquaintance of mine had letterhead and purchase orders done up as "Tiestes Systems' to order samples from electronics vendors.

The logo almost combined the T and i, rendering the latter almost unnoticeable.

He got called out any number of times, I'm guessing on account of the fact he was 15 and sounded 12.

His excuse was "The owner is from Paraguay, English is not his first language, and trust me, we've all told him."

I'm a supporter of both NSAIDs and blahaj.

@foone Wasn't there a proposed extension for animated GIF files that used G.711 for sound?
@foone Every time I see a function like that it usually turns out to be something like "so-and-so was a smug bastard who liked to put his initials on things he fixed to rub it in that he was better than they were".

@deviantollam The fill adapters do work. Sort of. The fill amount isn't consistent and those small tanks aren't designed for reuse, so they tend to start leaking from their internal valves after a while.

That said, there are small tanks designed (and certified) to be refillable that work with fill adapters.

I wouldn't buy from that webpage though. Just sets off too many scam alarms to me.

@arclight OBS, or ffmpeg with the -f option (gdigrab for Windows, x11grab/kmsgrab for Linux)

kmsgrab (what you'd use for Wayland) is kind of clunky and makes you specify all sorts of things like which vaapi device to use.

@foone From an old forum post I found it operated at 40hz. Quote: "Figure 6 shows a sequence of high-speed photographs of the flames at the exhaust end of the PJ-31 engine, covering a single cycle (1/40 second) of its operations"
@da_667 I was curious as to where I'd left it as I hadn't seen it in a while, and I apparently hung it off an Ubuntu box in my garage and left it streaming over RTSP for like the last three months.
@da_667 It'll work fine. I had one (C920e) watching my 3D printer for a while. It just works out of the box, both video and sound, like pretty much all of the Logitech cameras do.
@da_667 Which webcam? I've spent a lot of time dealing with them under Linux.
