Positive Moderna, Merck cancer vaccine data advances mRNA promise, shares rise

An experimental cancer vaccine from Moderna Inc <a href="https://www.reuters.com/companies/MRNA.O" target="_blank">(MRNA.O)</a> based on the messenger RNA (MRNA) technology used in successful COVID-19 vaccines has been shown to work against melanoma, sending Moderna shares more than 20% higher and driving up of other biotechs working on similar treatments.

#covid19vaccine note: Vaccine effectiveness of 50-60% vs symptomatic disease for the new bivalent vaccine is tremendous. It’s not a base hit, it’s a home run.

Why? The comparison group was already vaccinated x2, x3, x4 and many were previously infected. Thus, this additional protection is amazing because even with all the background immunity, the bivalent cuts your risk in half!
