I really don't wanna defend this awful person, but its not reasonable to act like he never achieved anything on his own
ik from memory that he created his own computer game when he was a teen and that when he was 7 years old he walked several miles to his cousins birthday party because his parents wouldnt drive him (for that I don't have a source and I might be totally wrong but I think I'm right)
As an adult he tried to push the narative that he was some kind of inventor, and that is misleading for sure, he was more of an investor that invested in the right things at the right time, like with spaceX

Also his fathers opinion on this doesn't really matter, like maybe he and his dad never got along
and he did get educated in physics and economics, and dropped out of stanford while he was in grad school
If you are still actively participating at Musk's vile platform, you are actively supporting him.
Journalists, this goes triple for you. At least be honest about your hypocrisy. You mock your honorable craft.

@dangillmor What we need is more people to get off twitter and meta, and the first step to that is get the creators of content off there, like the journalists.
Because its people like them who keep the majority of the user base of twitter there, they're there because the people they follow are there

Anyone who actually believes Trump's prosecuting Mahmoud Khalil because of "antisemitism and rule of law" is either lying to themselves or a closeted Nazi.

if the only reason to use a product or system is because its environmentally friendly, the vast majority will never use it
solar panels and EVs are popular not because they help the envirnoment by lowering co2, but bc solar panels low electric bills, and don't need any cost to run them and EVs have amazing acceleration
a 'green' boat would have to somehow keep up with the fossil fuel powered ones in some way, or it could be a niche market for slow but cheap transport - that's what I was thinking with the solar power but it probably wouldn't work well
perhaps wind could take that role actually, as long as those ships lasted long enough that the costs saved from no fuel were covered by their lifespans
might be hard getting investment though
