@flight404 I consistently reference this one when people ask me what data art is
@Shi @jamesgurney You're replying to the very same creator of Dinotopia!

Babe, wake up, a new #JWST image just dropped.

Light from the protostar L1527 escapes above and below an edge-on protoplanetary disk (the dark line at the center of the image), creating an hourglass shape. This illuminates the cavities carved as ejected material from the star collides with the surrounding, dusty nebula.

Dust scatters shorter wavelengths of light, so blue areas are where the dust is thinner and orange areas are where the dust is more dense.

@neauoire builds character
@ritualdust this looks very cool

@notlion @flight404 There's a setting in Preferences under "Post Layout" to disable the 16:9 auto-crop. Video's way better here than birdsite!

Docs:
Videos (MP4, M4V, MOV, WebM) up to 40MB. Video will be transcoded to H.264 MP4 with a maximum bitrate of 1300kbps and framerate of 60fps.

@flight404 And the reel itself looks great too 👌
@flight404 Coming through at 1080p and 22MB so pretty dang good

@pascalblanche @simonstalenhag Looked into this a bit more and there's a setting for this for images but not video, and it defaults to "on."
It's in Preferences: Appearance > Crop images in non-expanded posts to 16x9

Turning it off and all images look great, but the video is still stuck in a little 16:9 player.

@pascalblanche @simonstalenhag Messed with the CSS a little bit and it works out nicely 👍
Seems possible to be added for real.
