Neat observation: doomscrolling mastodon Trending at 0900 UTC while living -6/-5 UTC (0300/0400 ish) eventually leads to most posts being non-English.
Once you scroll Trending enough to start getting posts from around 0500 UTC, it runs out of English posts. Everything shifts to German, French, Spanish, Danish, Japanese, etc. like the English language well ran dry. :)
