This reminds me of this meme, where a contemporary PhD student says "I hope that my many years of research and several experiments are able to convince you that this small detail I found is true", while ancient Greek philosophers say "I had an idea while having a bath, which constitutes a self-evident and universal truth".
It's still quite nice to get home, play a round of Age of Empires II to unwind, and win. Problem is, more often than not, I don't.
I've got to wonder how many people log in Reddit using their Google credentials.
You see that round brownish thing? That's a grid used for electron microscopy. It's called a grid because it really is a mesh made out of metal (copper in this case). A very thin film of carbon is deposited on that grid. If you want to analyse something by electron microscopy, you first have to make sure that it attaches to that carbon film.
Ahh, if only the technology to show you all what a boiled bacterial (E. coli) extract smells like existed 😁😁
Science is interesting and all, but in my case it also involves an inordinate amount of time waiting for drops to fall.
