Finished »Day 66« of #100DaysOfSwiftUI
Project 13 “Instafilter”, Pt. 5

Interesting, but I will NEVER EVER keep all this in my mind.

@piturnah No degree. But I used to manage dev teams where some of the people had a degree 😃 Does this mean you don't need a degree for a professional career in software development? Yes, you definitely don't need it! Does this mean you should not get a degree? Absolutely NOT, you should really try hard to get it! If you have the chance, then get a degree, because it will make so many things faster and easier in your career!
@michaelrowe01 I don't know about your day job exactly, but why does it happen so often that once passionate developers, are doomed to eventually find themselves dealing mostly with meetings and management garbage?!? These days, it's not and IDE or an editor, but PowerPoint and Excel that I use most of the day - honestly, it’s a pain and I hate it 😢
@michaelrowe01 Nice jacked. How comes that you own one of these?!? ... I have to admit that I am so not into soccer - shame on me!
@slynch Good point. Also a reason why imo some good engineers unfortunately become bad managers. Because they know exactly how to do things, they tell people what to do - but not why; or how to get there on their own ... from their perspective this does not help to achieve the goal fast. What these clever guys don't get - and as engineers they should know better - this does not scale! They should try to make a YT channel to see how far their “put this there, (idiot)!” gets them 😜
@michaelrowe01 I was just recently at the exact same point (finished Day 59 yesterday). Any thoughts on why @twostraws does this stunt of disabling the transparent generation of the entity's class representation? These optionals are annoying, yes, but I was able to eliminate these in all the examples by just writing an extension to the auto-generated class ... so simple - there must be a catch to this approach, but idk 🤷🏻‍♂️
@michaelrowe01 can confirm - absolutely the same for me. Some challenges take me days (but this might be because I'm a bit playful from time to time) and others make me think “that's it? what’s the catch? where is the rest of the content?”
@michaelrowe01 have been a huge fan of Warcraft II ... Warcraft III not so much ... never ever played WoW … wdyt? it’s never too late maybe?!?
