One would think that, by version 8, the Vite team might have developed the technology to output their changelog to the new version notification emails like every other piece of software.
iPadOS is a joke.
Can one change the haptic pattern for specific notifications on Apple Watch?

1. use this web component, it has zero dependencies, weighs 4KB, shipped in 2018—still works great

2. OR, you can use this react component—it has many dependencies, requires a transpiler, weighs 200KB+, uses outdated react best practices from 3 months ago

you gotta choose #2, right? otherwise they’re gonna make fun of you

To cross-post or to use many apps separately or to just pick a side? Those are the questions.
There are no good book/reading tracking apps. Prove me wrong.

#perfnow slides will be up at some point, but the TL;DR is toot-sized: the web is losing, in part because the frontend discourse has been captured by charlatans and fabulists. It's hurting users, and drawing attention away from urgent problems that are keeping the web from competing.

The #webperf community is a rare island of sanity where evidence still beats bluster. We owe it to our future selves to help clients reject the lemons the JS-industrial-complex keeps trying to pass off as gems.

After about a week of trying it, I’m still feeling torn about browsing a joint mastodon/bluesky/everything feed in Reeder. Looks pretty but replies don’t have any special treatment or placement so they just appear out of context.
