Account inactive, leaving over concerns caused by the admins: web.archive.org/web/20240731005450/…/11458387

Look. The community dislikes your change. If you don’t have the ability to act in the interests of your community, then quite simply you are not a good moderator.

I’m deleting my account. I refuse to be on an instance that it ran by immaturity.

We are giving you feedback because of this line, this response is not the kind to be expected from an administrator that respects their community.

As always feedback is welcome, as this is a active project which we really hope will benefit the community.

We are well aware that the bot can be blocked. The issue here is not the bots existence, the issue here is reluctance for the mods to take user feedback into account. It is clear that the majority of the community dislikes the bot and administrators are ignoring concerns and being defensive.

Sadly I don’t think anything will be done about it

Media Bias Fact Check - Automation - Lemmy.World

Hello World, As many of you have probably noticed, there is a growing problem on the internet when it comes to undisclosed bias in both amateur and professional reporting. While not every outlet can be like the C-SPAN, or Reuters, we also believe that it’s impossible to remove the human element from the news, especially when it concerns, well, humans. To this end, we’ve created a media bias bot, which we hope will keep everyone informed about WHO, not just the WHAT of posted articles. This bot uses Media Bias/Fact Check [https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/] to add a simple reply to show bias. We feel this is especially important with the US Election coming up. The bot will also provide links to Ground.News [https://ground.news/], as well, which we feel is a great source to determine the WHOLE coverage of a given article and/or topic. As always feedback is welcome, as this is a active project which we really hope will benefit the community. Thanks! > FHF / LemmyWorld Admin team 💖

Seeing as this is the stance the site admins take on decisions that are majority hated by the community, I’m just gonna leave this instance. Clearly the users are not the priority here.

I’d recommend Mull, it’s basically the spiritual “librewolf for Android”

As for the syncing I’m not sure

Mull | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

Privacy oriented web browser

Their actual post on it contains mostly vocal support for the bot, but I think the admins should really take note of the downvotes on the bot too, because more people are willing to click the up/downvote button to express their like or dislike for it than to actually comment about it
This is probably tinfoil hat thinking but I wonder if they’re just stepping down to give the appearance that Project 2025’s ideas are dead to make Trump appear as less extremist to undecided voters.
Also for anyone scrolling by, that EFF page contains a tool in the “Take Action” button at the bottom that can find your relevant representative and provide you with an email template that you can modify and they will send on your behalf.
On desktop I’ve been using Librewolf, Mullvad is good too. There’s also some forks on Android, Mull and Fennec
