I have been using lemmy for a while now (since Reddit’s API issues) and just
recently discovered this website: https://lemvotes.org/user/
[https://lemvotes.org/user/] Seems I can simply input any user and I get their
whole history of upvotes and downvotes, with dates and links. I also tried it
with a Piefed user and it worked. Kind of a deal breaker for me. Don’t feel
comfortable even upvoting when these details are public to anyone.

I scrolled through a community which contains lots of gifs (videos) and saw
strange behavior. I see that the videos take a while to load, then when they
finally load they are fully playable (no buffering). This tells me the media is
being downloaded fully instead of more usual streaming where it is only
downloaded as it’s playing. Then I checked my phone storage and see that mlem
storage went from ~300mb usage to 2.3gb

thought I could simply clear the cache using mlem’s option, but doesn’t appear
to see it at all (as it only reports 13.3mb)

the overall issue is that if we scroll through a community that has media, it
takes a long time to load, and the cache size can spiral out of control…
