How to Use Your Imagination

I don’t think about Roko’s Basilisk very much because it’s really dumb but now and then I’m reminded that there are people in the world who think “in the future a simulation of me might get oppressed so I should work hard to create that oppressor today so I can curry favour with it” and that there is a level of subservient cowardice in this world that I refuse to understand, that straddles the chasm between imagination and pathology.
