note: these are general numbers I gathered from watching an LTT video, GN I think saw closer to 50C for non-X (to be expected, though, different ambient temps, different testing methods/cases/etc, there will be variation)

Prime95 Small FFTs, 100% CPU load
Temps:
Ryzen 9 7900 - 41C average
Ryzen 9 7900X - 85C average

Even at its worst, the 7900 is like 80% of the performance of the 7900X. Imagine using 1/3 less power and HALF the heat output and getting 80%+ of the same performance.

Ryzen 9 7900 gets 95% of the performance of the 7900X while using 66% of the power.

This further proves the point that chip makers are letting their chips run unnecessarily hot and wasting power for mere ounces of performance. This causes unnecessary heat generation, cooling requirements, and noise too.

Massive energy expenditure for diminishing performance returns annoys the hell out of me. Need more products that default to silent, cool, and efficient because the performance gap is negligible. Let enthusiasts overclock but stop putting out wasteful defaults.

yikes...
Propagandhi never really clicked for me music-wise until tonight. Not sure why it randomly just settled into where my ears really enjoy it. Always loved the band from a political/philosophical standpoint but found their work harder to grok... maybe it's the very unorthodox ways the lyrics are written to the music (less patterns/rhymes/etc) and so my brain kept having its expectations subverted to the point where it was difficult to listen. Until now...

oof, in addition to all the real pain and suffering caused by conservatives... have you heard conservatives' attempts at music lately?

tom mcdonald, aaron lewis, kid rock, disturbed, shinedown...

it's still hard to believe these god-awful lyrics are even remotely real

i truly struggle to feel like the reality we live in is real anymore. everything is excruciatingly surreal

never understand the "someone please let me know in the comments" thing people say in YT videos when they're reacting to or looking at something... i'm instantly unimpressed that you didn't do the research yourself (or refuse to do it as part of the video). way to avoid everything interesting
