Considering running a personal mastodon instance just for me to free myself of any barriers others put up, but not really committed to it yet. Just created a subdomain from my site's dashboard just in case I do it~
Angle 3 is do they allow problematic art as I'm generally okay with people drawing whatever depraved fantasy they desire as I feel it's better to express these fantasies in a healthy way then let them fester inside you. And as long as the instance keeps on top of CWing and labeling NSFW, then I have a way to avoid that stuff. Finally, the last angle is do they have good archival capabilities as it really does suck when stuff suddenly disappears, like it never happened~
I have been considering moving to another server, but it's pretty conflicting for me from several angles. Angle 1 is it big enough that it can be expected to exist into the far future and do they have a succession plan in case the person/group running it has people resign. Angle 2 is do they suffer from being limited/suspended by many instances as I don't like arbitrary barriers being set up that I have no control over as I feel that's what blocking/muting is for, to establish your own barriers~
I like that every new console controller I've owned has had joystick drift, but my original launch Xbox One controller with it's crappy micro-b wired interface hasn't had a single inkling of joystick drift at almost ten years old. They really don't make joysticks like they use to and in spite of the clear decline in joystick quality they don't use hall effect sensors to address the issue. If this controller dies, then I'll probably try something from Gulikit~
