📢 New Essay:
“Communication technologies have been reshaping the human body in a slow migration down the arm.
They’ve run out of body. Now they’re reshaping the message.”
What is going on?!
I updated my son’s iPad to 26.4.1 and now the passcode keypad is a full size keyboard with miniaturized keys. It’s almost impossible to tap the right buttons.
I think this might be the first XKCD comic I have to submit to r/PeterExplainsTheJoke
Dan Moren combining his tech journalism and sci-fi writing skills is a delightful reflection on what could have been:
“As much as some people might deride Liquid Glass, be glad you don’t live on Earth 9w4598-Ω, where Apple really ran with that whole “lickable” interface thing. Computing has never been so sticky.”
I’m still struggling with basic prompting for Apple Intelligence. Here I’m using Apple Shortcuts to record a voice memo then use the on-device model to transcribe, create a title and clean up the text which it adds to a new Markdown file in iA Writer.
It had been working fine, but now the model is including its commentary in the output.
Anyone have good success with cleaning up the prompts for Apple Intelligence?
I keep trying Rork Max, but all I get is this lousy error message. It looks promising, but not worth $200 just to see if it works.
So if all of you who ARE paying could just take a break for a bit, that would be great. 😉
