@rebeccafinn @collinsworth I’ve noticed that “don’t know much about it” is part of it. From their POV, it’s got silly and weird rules and is inconsistent and “could be done better some other way” so why would they learn it? They dipped their toe in, said “jeez this sucks” and quit. It’s part of their argument.

@Chip_Unicorn @polotek IMO, the developer/team need to communicate those impacts. In concrete terms: This production issue pushes out the estimates 1 week. And it’s the lead/manager’s job to do something with that info. Useful context for the manager.

The team should also reforecast at regular intervals. Ideally w/ confidence levels. Few people like surprises, and providing those estimates/forecasts keeps everyone’s eyes wide open. The resyncing process matters.
