Random Game Saturday
More of a utility than a game but it is one of the few disc-only games I have. It’s called Pokèmon Box and it lets you trade and store loads of Pokèmon on a Gamecube memory card using the GBA Gamecube Link Cable. Kind of Pokèmon Home before that was a thing. You can also play Pokèmon Ruby or Sapphire on the big screen by connecting your GBA with the cartridge inserted and selecting Adventure Mode.
Been working on this for a few weeks and it is, by far, the most challenging project I’ve ever done. Today I completed and successfully tested
@cosam_the_great Sega Neptune. This combines a Sega 32X and a Sega Genesis on one PCB. I still need to buy the awesome fanmade case for it but it works great!
Just finished modding my Dreamcast to play games off of a CompactFlash card. There are newer mods that read off of an SD card but I really wanted to keep my GD-ROM drive so I went this route which lets me have the best of both worlds. Now I can backup my Dreamcast games easily.
One of my favorite retro game setups at home is my weirdest. A PSP Go, Dock, component cables, connected to a RetroTink 4K, controlled with a PS3 controller. The RetroTink makes it so I can scale up the image to fill the screen for PSP games, something the PSP Go can’t do out of the box.
Posting a picture of a random game from my collection because it’s Saturday.
I was obsessed with Croc as a kid and I’m very excited that Argonauts is remastering it for modern platforms.
Does this mean anything to anyone?
Today I learned there are widescreen hacks for PS1 games that work on original hardware. Mega Man Legends looks crazy good.
Ringing in the new year the best way I know how. 2024 is the year of Saturn.
Pretty cool to see a toy representing my favorite scene in the movie. Who doesn’t love that part when Dr. Ian Malcolm glides into the scene and blasts dinos with a rocket launcher?
My Loewe CRT died this week and I was so sad. I was able to pick up this beauty of a Grundig within a week. It turns out people are just giving these things away!
