My partner's been watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and it's the first Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire thing I've ever enjoyed -- including the books, which I found interminable.
"Dopey but well-meaning guy tries to do the right thing" is my second favorite genre of fiction after "Asshole learns to be a better person the hard way."
It’s everything I despise about America condensed into a TV hour.
My brother was all, “That’s the point!”
And I get that that’s the goal, but I won’t watch a show without anyone to root for. Despicable people making each other miserable is my least favorite genre.
My partner is watching Mad Men — and until now I’ve never watched more than one or two random episodes.
Holy shit I hate all these people and find every episode excruciating to watch. Wanna watch a manipulative sociopath torture everyone around him to the point of madness whilst also contributing to one of the most evil industries in history?! You know — for fun!
