n0vember (n0vember) | Keybase

n0vember (n0vember) is now on Keybase, an open source app for encryption and cryptography.

A fucking #houseplant with a patent on it 🤑 😭

@viciousviscosity and this year's Halloween is a Wednesday 🎃
@ellied @feld well, some time ago, part of my job as level 3 support was to redact procedures for incident management. And I used to put code in my procedures. With a prompt that happened to be >
Side effects went from funny empty ls or cat files in /, to more boring stuff like /bin/rm being 0 byte, depending on my use of absolute path at the moment.
I indeed switched to a less armful # prompt.
@Mainebot reading the answers, I am always stunned how many people still use Microsoft and wonder how they manage to work with it. I use Linux for more than 2 decades and putting my hands on windows is always so painful. I can't find my tools, can't find my marks. Used to add that I can't find my money. Guess I will have to add I can't find my privacy either.
@mathfreedom I used to work on Debian systems with a policy to use unattended-upgrade. It's a piece of software that upgrades system on a periodic basis. We were applying security patches immediately on testing environments and every week on production systems. We were under a regulation and had to apply security patches in 3 weeks and wouldn't have been able able to review all of them within this time. So we did checks, yes, but no full code review.
@FlyingLawyer so yes, it improves data security, as a side effect.
@FlyingLawyer GDPR is about privacy, data protection, right for the individual not to have their data published or sold without consent. The leverage I think about, as seen from the inside of a big company I've worked for, was that it led them to review what data they store and how. They reviewed their processes to better protect those data, in order for it not to be leaked. 20 billions for the first 2018 semester is something you don't want to pay 4% of on a fine.
@mathfreedom @jerry is there a particular event that took you away from the 3 bigs you mentioned ? What other steps have you taken to get you away from them?
welcome on board 😀
