I need an off switch for my mind, if I didn't have to work I'd be writing all day and all night.

I need an off switch for my mind, if I didn't have to work I'd be writing all day and all night.
Don't quite know what you mean there. Can I chill?
The second part yes I'm okay. this poem is from last year.

Just behind these eyes
Unnoticeable glitters of pain
Will I cross paths with one of you
One of you, who will make assumptions
One of you, who will jump to conclusions
One of you, who will assure my destruction
Where are my languages?
I hear the cadence of the words
I feel the emotions they stir
But I don’t understand the words
What’s my culture?
I hear the heartbeat of the drums
My hips move may move to the rhythm
But my feet never learned the steps

Don’t care if you’re a brotha
Don’t care if you’re a sista
Don’t care what color skin you come in
Don’t care which age group you fit in
Don’t call me that
Don’t call me that
Not in jest
Not in fun
Not in anger
Not in rage
That word left marks
On my grandpa’s back
That word still fills
Grandma’s eyes with hurt
Don’t call me that

If you can help me publish
Did you know, that one day
You would laugh
As a child gave a speech
About his grandmother dying?
Did you know, that one day
You would scream
Into a child’s face
As you pulled their mask away?
Did you know, that one day
You would rant and rave
In a school board meeting
To forbid MLK’s teachings?
