also this would prob encourage further adoption of the shortcuts app for users and developers. apple could kind of “force them” to use it and further explore how powerful of an app it is.
i know from my own personal experience i dont use the app at all even though ive seen examples of how useful it can be, because it still feels like an overall clunky experience to use and to fully understand.
i consider myself decently tech literate (i made it on here at the very least lol) and have yet to feel the urge to put aside the time to really dig into that app.
theres no way the average iphone user or id wager even the average pro user even knows what the shortcuts app does, let alone uses it effectively.
iPhone 15 Pro Action Button
I had a neat thought, which probably has a 0% chance of coming true; but what if apple ties functionality of the new “action button” to shortcuts and really opens up ios functionality and customizability to users of the pro phones. this would further differentiate the two phone types to users, especially with the island coming to the regular line as well this year, apparently. (and we all know apple would love to play up the change from a switch to button and attempt to upsell the shit out of it). and perhaps updates to shortcuts and the additional ram will make launching actions a bit snappier. anyway just daydreaming my lemonheads 8)
lemmygrad.ml and other themed instances
So I just discovered lemmygrad.ml [http://lemmygrad.ml] because I saw a comment that described it as “an extremist instance”. I popped over there, and while there are def some interesting takes, it seems like a well moderated instance with extremely strict rules centered around leftism, and provides very focused content. There does also seem to be a lot of pro-china content, which in and of itself is not a bad thing. China is an important country (they all are) that contributes a lot to the world through tech, agriculture, and industry. At the same time though, like every other major superpower, it commits atrocities at home and abroad. My question to those familiar with/to the instance: what would lemmygrad.ml [http://lemmygrad.ml]’s position on the tiananmen square massacre be? I’m too afraid to ask myself; I don’t want to get yelled at by any militant leftists right now hehe. I feel this is a pretty good litmus test for how “extreme” an instance is, as denying/skewing historical events seems to be a pretty good extremism determinator. Thoughts? Peace & Love My Lemmings
