I feel like 10 years ago I could do such cool things with Rails + Omniauth + Bootstrap. No AI. Very little cloud beyond an Ubuntu server somewhere.

How far we have fallen.

@selea Kind of hilarious to me to read LLM generated text filled with emojis, and I don't know if non-tech people realize how many README.mds from Javascript projects must have went into the training data to get there....

Technology is not inevitable. We've decided not to have asbestos in our walls, lead in our pipes, or carginogenic chemicals in our food. (If you're going to argue that it's not everywhere, where would you rather live?) We could just not do LLMs. It's allowed.

The amount of work that some distros put into their installers release after release is always amusing to me, almost like an expected use case of #linux is that people will be installing from scratch frequently.
