5 years ago, we had the opportunity to go camping in Blatten in the Lötschentall in Switzerland. This trip is No.1 on my vacation list as the kids, partner and me, starting to pick up a love for exploring and hiking. The Alpine landscape carved out by glaciers over millions of years and peaceful plateau meadows, left us in awe.
Today, Blatten is almost completely buried under the rubble of a landslide caused by accelerated thaw largely due to human made global warming.
Luckily, the entire village, livestock included, was evacuated a few days beforehand.
The photo attached is one I took of the Bietschhorn, nicknamed the King of Wallis, under which we slept 5 years ago, taken from a plateau a few kilometres further south. If I read the geological news correctly, the left lower patch of ice on the picture largely came down.
Hiking through the easy parts of Norway's rugged nature was amazing.

Continuing my scheme of showing up at JavaScript conferences and not talk about JavaScript at all.
Still need to convince managers why accessibility pays off, in actual ‘managerial’ tongue?
Come ‘n steal my talk at #jsnation remote this afternoon.
