#PPOD: NASA’s Terra satellite captured floating fragments of sea ice as ocean currents carried them south along Greenland’s east coast on June 4, 2024. This ice traveled from the Fram Strait, a 450-kilometer-wide passage between Greenland and Svalbard, to the Arctic Ocean. Along the journey, it breaks into smaller pieces and starts to melt in warmer ocean waters, creating the wispy patterns seen here. And April? Again, the last one.
And March? Still the last one.
And the list continues until June 2023, cumulating in a 12-month streak.

We are leading the way in climate action.
Worlds of IF (May 1954)
Wow, love the drama, the action, the light and shadow. The extreme straightness of that rope they're holding shows us that something pretty intense is going on at the other end, but we can't see it.
