The Séance of Blake Manor - Lemmy.World
This game was released on 27th October. It sounded like my kind of thing, so I
picked it up last night with a small discount from Gamesplanet. It’s a ‘native’
Unity3D game which is always preferred. Whilst I’ve only played about 30min so
far, I’ve survived the first night and have solved the initial puzzle! Controls
are the usual mouse/WASD style with the pointer changing where things can be
interacted with. Supernatural mysteries are right up my street, so I will report
back later when I’ve progressed further. Recommended :-)

Is it still possible to install Yuzu on Steam Deck? - Lemmy.World
Morning all, My distro still has an RPM of Yuzu available, which is handy.
However I’d like to install Yuzu on the Steam Deck to be able to play some other
games on the move. Is a version of Yuzu still maintained which is
Deck-compatible? I suspect not but I thought I’d ask here. Cheers!

Strange bug involving Plasma 6, Wayland and NVIDIA - Lemmy.World
Evening all! Since I installed the 555 driver for my GTX 1660 Ti I have been
having random black screens with two games (in this case Venture to the Vile and
Alan Wake II). In both cases, the game loads fine and the menus work, but as
soon as the gameplay starts or there is a screen transition, the playing area
will go black. You can still hear sounds and the game appears to be functioning,
but nothing is visible. It is more common in Alan Wake II but does periodically
occur in VttV. I then have to Alt-F4. I have since reinstalled NVIDIA driver 550
and so far the games play normally. I couldn’t see any obvious error output
associated with these games, either. Any suggestions as to the cause is
welcomed. OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed x86_64 Kernel: 6.9.3-1-default Uptime: 4

Legendary PC developer says Denuvo is “a punishment to the consumer” - Lemmy.world
Quote from the article: “The inclusion of intrusive DRM softwares [sic] like
Denuvo is a choice that yields an unfair punishment on the consumer,” Running
With Scissors says. “Respect the consumer, make a game they want to play, and
you will never feel the need to fight piracy. The gaming industry deserves a
better future, fight for that.”

Strange fullscreen problem with Kalevania - Lemmy.world
Hi all, I wonder if anyone can suggest what’s going on here? When I launch
Kalevania, the game starts in a small window in the top-left corner of the
screen. If I attempt to maximise it (pressing F), I get a small portion of the
game screen as shown in the attached image. If I press F again, the game returns
to a small window. Editing the game’s config file seems to have no effect. The
dev cannot seem to replicate the problem. My system is OpenSUSE Tumbleweed with
KDE Plasma, Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti with driver 535.86.05, running X. Other specs:

Dead Island 2 EMPRESS - Lemmy.world
I’ve been trying to get DI2 running on my system, but it displays the error
message "DX12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or
-d3d12 command line argument.“ Adding -dx11 to the command line makes no
difference. OS is Tumbleweed. I’ve tried wine 8.12, various Proton GEs and also
Proton Experimental. I have the latest dxvk and vkd3d packages installed. My GPU
is a 1660Ti with the latest drivers and so I’m a little stuck on what is going
wrong! As I understand it, DI2 only supports dx12. Can anyone suggest a solution
for this issue?

GYLT-FLT on Proton - Lemmy.world
Evening all, Have just installed this and added a link to Lutris to fire it up
via GE-Proton8-6. On my system at least, the game requires vcrun2022 to be
installed and the launch option -dx11. Game engine is UE4. The problem that I am
currently having is no movies are playing. I’ve tried mf-install but this
actually causes the game to crash with a “Fatal Error.” Can anyone suggest a
workaround? System specs attached. Cheers!
