@nextcloud Started moving away from big tech years ago. Most recent thing I've replaced is my phone's operating system. I have replaced-

- Google Cloud Service with Nextcloud AIO
- Gmail with Proton Mail
- All streaming services with Jellyfin
- Google Chrome with Brave and a customized Firefox fork, I alternate between them
- Google search with Brave Search
- Windows with Linux
- Android with /e/OS
- Gaming consoles with Steam and Steam Deck
- Nvidia with AMD

So not only has this not solved the touted problem, it's making people more vulnerable to malicious actors in the process while making the governments of these states look like the very tyrants they profess to oppose. Congrats, dipshits, you played yourselves. How about instead of trying to legislate everything away we instead just let people live their lives as they see fit?

Also, while there's no real evidence that porn is harmful to its consumers, it's extremely harmful to its performers./

Nobody is going to do the research to find out which ones are trustworthy because they don't know any better.

I use ProtonVPN because I'm already using Proton Mail.

You can't censor the internet without people looking for a way around it. Look at prohibition, it doesn't solve the problem it drives it underground.

Some people will argue "but look, people going to porn sites has decreased sharply because of this!"No, ISPs being able to track people going to porn sites has decreased due to VPNs/

The trend in the United States of various states opting to censor the internet under the guise of that trite pearl-clutching "think of the children!" mantra is so cringe for so many reasons.

First and foremost because this isn't enforceable without creating a CCP or North Korea style system of no contact with the outside world. VPNs exist and now they're looking like a much better option for people. The problem with that is literally anyone can make a VPN, most of them are predatory, and /
