Have we seriously considered the possibility that the six-fingered man Inigo Montoya was looking for might have just been bad generative artificial intelligence?
A word cloud based on the transcript would probably be just as good and wouldn't suggest that things happened or were agreed to 100% opposite of what actually occurred.
Holding "Exit Conversations" with my students via Zoom and, since I struggle to take good notes while holding them, thought I'd try the new-ish Zoom AI Companion meeting summary. NOT impressed. If you want an actual and accurate understanding of what happened, you won't get it.
@enmodo @pluralistic The more I read, the more convinced I am that our responses to generative AI say more about "us" than they do about anything else. Because of that, one of my greatest fears is the vast number of people who don't want to exercise any vigilance at all and for whom the hallucination-riddled generative AI output is "good enough." Good enough will doom us all.
The latest piece from

Watching my son’s karate class. I wonder what the intellectual/academic equivalent to martial arts discipline and training would be? Yes, I know martial arts are intellectual in addition to being physical. Just curious what a “life of the mind” (not body) version would be.
Putting aside all hype and hate—and no I'm not buying one—here's a VisionPro/XR app I would love to see: the XR/spatial ebook reader. 1) Buy a multi-page physical "blank book"; 2) the XR device maps the text of your ebook to the blank pages. All the feel of a real physical book with all the benefits of an ebook.
