12 Hue lights and an incandescent one on top for good measure. Fingers crossed that my PyCon talk proposal is accepted!
My wife and I have fun decorating the sign for various holidays.
Switched Project Marquee back to incandescent lights for a nice retro feel for the holidays.
More-or-less finished cleaning up the panel. Programming side will be "complete" 🤣 soon.
I am currently up to my elbows on the next phase of Project Marquee - dimmers! More to come soon.
Our 81-year-old house has some challenges, including some very, let's say interesting, electrical work done by previous homeowners. Over the years I have improved / simplified things a little at a time, but we have had rapid changes lately. Professional electricians have upgraded the service, and we finally have a level 2 EV charger! I have been installing all-new branch circuits in the basement and garage. Check out some of my conduit bending; not bad for an amateur!
I had great fun with this little project in the summer of 2022. The locking cabinet my employer used across the country for iPhone storage had a large hole on each side that unfortunately was just large enough to allow the iPhones to escape. After several design iterations, lessons learned about working with metal, and a huge mess in my garage, the final product was both highly functional and even a little stylish, if I do say so myself.
Here is the Carhartt Christmas tree that my wife and I made in December 2023. I have been collecting the hats for several years. The structure is steel and aluminum; I started with a never-assembled 2-post network rack.
I had a lot of fun with Project Marquee. I had never done anything like it before.
I have wanted to make this for a while, and our son's graduation from the University Alabama in May of 2024 was the excuse I needed.
