Trump's current lawyers will say Michael Cohen is a scoundrel who could never be trusted and they will also say that Trump (who wrote "VOID" on checks that he did not want to sign) signed multiple $35,000 checks from his personal account for invoices for legal work where Cohen did no legal work and Trump (self-proclaimed stable genius) never questioned what legal work he was paying for (Trump knew he was paying Cohen back for his illegal felony campaign contribution and tried to hide that).
