"The only war #Trump had an exit plan for was Vietnam"

Seems about right!

@MAKS23 This old man is a total spineless clown
@MAKS23 Don't be surprised—they are the people's elected representatives, a reflection of their constituents.
@randahl I envy countries that are not landlocked. Offshore windmills are a game changer. Here, we have to mix PV and expensive (but reliable baseload) nuclear power.
Mass surveillance and censorship are escalating in many countries right now. There is a global attack on secure encrypted communication. Often, authorities, politicians, and tech companies work together to push for new laws. One example: when Ashton Kutcher (yes, the actor), through his tech company Thorn, tried to introduce total surveillance of all EU citizens through undemocratic and corrupt methods.

Sky Glows over Paranal Observatory

Explanation: Are lasers from giant telescopes being used to defend the Earth? No. Lasers shot from telescopes are now commonly used to help increase the accuracy of astronomical observations. In some directions, Earth atmosphere-induced fluctuations in starlight can indicate how the air mass over a telescope is changing, but in other directions, no bright star exists. In these directions, astronomers can create an artificial star with a laser. Subsequent observations of the artificial laser guide star can reveal information so detailed about the changing blurring effects of the Earth's atmosphere that much of it can be removed by rapidly flexing a telescope's mirror. Such adaptive optics techniques allow high-resolution ground-based observations of real stars, planets, and nebulas. Pictured here, telescopes at Paranal Observatory in Chile study a colorful sky filled with green airglow and the Magellanic Clouds on the left, red airglow on the right, and the majestic central band of our Milky Way Galaxy arching across the center.

@martinlentink @MAKS23 Advance backwards, a traditional vatnik technique.

#Russia journalists visited #Vuhledar occupied by Russian army since 2024 and complain that the town is ruined, abandoned and devoid of any administration in spite of civilians living there (Russian audio, English/Polish subtitles). Just to be clear, this is Russian state media describing destruction brought to a town in Ukraine as part of Russian “liberation”.

@MAKS23 Someone with a brain will soon tell the orange senile man that operation Epic Fail is too expensive, and the ayatollah will remain in power unless there is a ground invasion. Trump will declare victory in his SMO. In Iran, which will be fucked up beyond recognition, a civil war will eventually break out. Europe will once again get huge refugee crisis involving millions of people.
A satellite imagery analysis conducted by Bellingcat shows that at least 15 police stations or police-related buildings were targeted in strikes conducted in Tehran between March 1 and March 3. https://www.bellingcat.com/news/middle-east/2026/03/04/satellite-imagery-reveals-strikes-on-iranian-police-stations/?utm_source=mstdn
Satellite Imagery Reveals Strikes on Iranian Police Stations - bellingcat

The US has released a list of military targets in Iran, including IRGC headquarters and missile systems. But Bellingcat has reviewed strikes against another type of target inside the Islamic Republic — police stations.
