Here's what I found today - https://libreqos.io. Wish this project existed 20 years ago and I didn't have to build from scratch. It was fun though! Sweet memories of testing in production and kernel panics

As part of a wave of layoffs, I got laid off from my backend development job last month as the company's financials I was working with have been steadily decreasing. I applied for another job shortly after, and after a month of interviews and an honestly great response from their team, at the last minute, they told me that they were focusing their hiring efforts away from the US and towards Singapore. With Calckey donations, I don't have enough money to pay for rent or groceries. So I'm asking to
#GetFediHired, I'm the lead developer on the Calckey project, and I'm a fullstack, multi-language developer. I have 3+ years of enterprise experience, and I work great on teams as well as solo. Resume and references available upon request.
TIL that "Drive My Car" was an euphemism for intimate relations commonly used in the 1950s and '60s.
Slow and steady wins the race. Managed to do almost 7 mi today without a single pit stop at ~10 min/mi. Still a long way to 26, but I'll get there
Fascinating: was DB Cooper a metallurgist? https://norjak.org

Was D.B. Cooper actually a scientist named Milton B. Vordahl? How did we come across Milton B. Vordahl? SCIENCE! Cooper pulled off one of the most ingenious heists in history. He was the first person in history to escape a crime scene by jumping from it. He made one mistake though: he left his tie…

Do not seize the day. This will startle the day and may cause it to become aggressive and give you a nasty bite.

Instead approach the day calmly without making eye contact, pet it gently, and slowly enfold it in a careful embrace

If the day shows any signs of resistance to being engaged with, it is likely to turn on you. Back off and return to bed.

March 15 is the day people leave Twitter.

The abandonment of Twitter in the Musk era has, for now, been inconsistent and chaotic, with people leaving at different times and for different reasons.

An organized effort to promote a "Leave Twitter" day, when everyone still reluctantly there logs off for the last time, with enough advance to line up alternate sites, should help get people out.

Thus, March 15. The Ides of Musk. Spread the word.

I have never really liked discussing whether you have something to hide, as an argument for or against security or privacy. First, it's irrelevant - everyone has these rights no matter what. But also, once you start talking about "hiding", you have already lost the discussion - because it's a word that is associated with negative connotations.

I think we should change the discourse. I don't have anything to hide. But I do have many things to protect. I have the right to protect my privacy. I have the right to protect my communication. I have the right to protect my work. I have the right to protect my friends and family.
