Gee, it's like people have some natural heuristic that makes them assume pressing a key marked "help" will provide them with help. I wonder if there's a word for when that key doesn't do anything and people get confused

Wow, the author of the arrow mod has a whole suite of mods to make navigation easier, including something I always wished Doom had, an on-screen compass https://github.com/mmaulwurff/hellscape-navigator

They don't work with Freedoom, I guess because the fonts/assets are different  but I'll definitely be using the compass the next time I play a standard iwad

I remembered that GZdoom has options to make the map more useful. I customized my experience and I'm having a splendid time

* Normal height changes/doors are dark green
* Locked doors show up as the color they are
* Teleporters are light green
* Level exit is orange
* Secret areas are pink
* My location is a custom arrow that lets me see which direction I'm facing https://github.com/mmaulwurff/zdoom-arrows

Just saved this backpack from trash collection. I can't believe someone just threw it out. The front pocket zipper was dislocated, but I got it to zip with a couple minutes of fiddling. All the zipper tags are intact. Whoever threw it out is a smoker, but after a wash it should be perfectly fine

There's not many tracks in Freedoom I think are straight-up bad, but some of it is amusingly out-of-place. Like, this track ("Main Code" by Korp) belongs in a Sonic the Hedgehog fan game. I love it
