It's spring. High pollen season.
CDC and NHS both say 20-ish% of the population has hay fever allergies.
Pollen is big, you don't even need a particularly good mask to stop it.

Think of the tens, maybe hundreds of millions of people, in North America and Europe, who are suffering rather than wearing a mask.

@shawrd773 @mekkaokereke In 1980s Chicago, a substitute teacher exposed us to algebra in 4th grade. My parents noticed me perking up for two days, and I ended up taking algebra properly in 5th grade, calc in 8th. I might be unusual, but how would we know? I do know I didn't get all of the candy she used as a bribe, so some classmate was responding too -- but didn't have my parents to push them forward.

"Every day, almost 3,700 people are killed globally in crashes involving cars, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, or pedestrians. More than half of those killed are pedestrians, motorcyclists, or cyclists."

If wages aren't allowed to rise faster than inflation in a growing economy, that mathematically guarantees increasing inequality. The wealth goes somewhere.

“If huge cars disappeared, the biggest losers wouldn’t be drivers but carmakers. Some of them have probably been kept alive by the outsized profits from SUVs. If we let SUVs keep fouling the planet we might as well admit there’s no sacrifice we’re willing to make for the climate.”

We should regulate SUVs out of existence

They’re not only awful for the climate, they’re also killing pedestrians, including children in driveways

@tomlegamer @TechConnectify @pauliehedron No, the US does it Saturday/Sunday.
@aredridel @TechConnectify @jernej @lambda Yeah, Boston could use Atlantic time as does Chile (pretty much due south), but I guess the elites want to be on NYC time.
@TechConnectify How is that not causal? We force a DST change, a one hour schedule change, people get disoriented and sleep deprived, and accidents increase.

"A single e-Hummer battery is roughly 350 times the size of the one in Rad Power’s popular RadRover 6 — which also costs $2,100 instead of $87,000 and up, and can use ordinary wall power instead of an expensive high-voltage charger. Put simply, mass e-bike adoption would give us hundreds of times more decarbonization for our policy dollar."

How Cities Can Ignite an E-Bike Revolution

Federal vehicle subsidies are focused on electric cars. There’s a better way.
