Something that we think is important to keep reinerating in the NSFW creator community (enjoyers/fans should pay attention too, please!), especially with the recent payout outages on Fansly, Onlyfans and Wishtender...
We all love the fun and liberating parts of this... but need to keep in mind the odds stacked against us that hamper and endanger that fun and freedom!
What we do is SEX WORK, it's a highly marginalized field and it's getting WORSE day by day through...
- all sorts of harmful legislation that's deceptively disguised as smth to "protect our children and security", resulting from instrumentalized lawsuits
- the actions major financial institutions and "religious activist" groups choose to take based on their repressive, fascist agenda, serving to maintain the predatory capitalist status quo (and their fraudulently acquired wealth)
This is not in any way a complete list but it gives a brief overview of COMPREHENSIVE PROOF of deliberate actions against our work and generally, FREEDOM of expression:
• Wishtender wishlist service shutting down payouts
• Fansly and Onlyfans facing payout outages and delays because of their payment processors' banking issues
• Twitch briefly allowing some NSFW content with content warnings/labels, then swiftly banning it all again (literally the NEXT DAY)
• Tumblr removing all NSFW content
• NSFW/SW group Switter on Mastodon being forced to shut down
• very pro-SW crypto payment platform Spankpay being forced to shut down because a payment processor dropped them (!!)
• ID requirement to access porn sites in several US states
• OF banning all NSFW content briefly (in 2021) ...this is why Fansly was originally founded!
• Throne wishlist service warning its users to NOT list sex toys and NSFW social media if you want payouts to work
• Instagram and Tiktok STRICTLY not allowing NSFW content, even if it's very mild
• Paypal freezing and seizing all funds of SW/NSFW content creators
• many payment platforms/digital wallets STRICTLY forbid funds originating from sex work/NSFW content
• major US banks shutting down SWers and porn performers' accounts, seizing funds. That even happened to incorporated porn production BUSINESS OWNERS
There's even more to this that's directly connected to the larger issue of money interests' manipulation of our society but that's a topic for a whole 'nother post...
