I'm neurodivergent and I decided spend New Year's Eve at home with my partner and cats. I don't have a mood for parties and it can be your reminder: it's okay to stay home. However, I can't stop thinking about fireworks that make me feel anxious and I come up with idea how to solve that problem in my area.
I live in one of the biggest city in my country (over 700 000 people) and there's so many people who enjoy that practice and that make me and some people and pets overwhelmed. What's worst, they started few days ago...
I see only one quite understandable reason to shoot fireworks: traditional and in some ways natural urge to celebrate New Year. Some people can consider it as new start and that can give them some hope and that's okay. I see way to fix problem with fireworks, and give everyone who needs that chance to see some colours on the sky.
In my opinion, we need law changes that wouldn't allow everyone to use fireworks. I think one silent show organised by city governments in some kind of designated place would be enough! That would be opportunity to enjoy that tradition who needs that without stressing others. In my opinion, after few years no one will really miss that noise and way to waste money.
I would like to wish all of you to spend that day however you like, even it is stay in bed and watching Twilight (I love that move and I don't feel guilty about that). Stay safe.
