@mezz No, never did that in game but v hard Con checks to avoid getting very drunk at the wake, followed by v hard Wis checks to avoid saying something that will offend someone? Also family fights over who gets what bit of minor tat from the house? Possibly folks sneaking around searching for x item which the deceased hid someplace? Who grabs Grandma’s (cursed) ring out of the jewelry box? There’s endless possibilities for strife!
Are there any online #DnD groups who play on Twitch or Discord or similar, allowing newbies & interested individuals to watch a one shot campaign? I help run a youth club for autistic kids and some of our older members (teens to 30s, age rating 15s+) would love to observe without the pressure of taking part. Pref Ireland based but any sound recommendations valued. #MastoDaoine #DungeonsAndDragons #RPG #Ireland #DisabilityDnD
@natural20 @Colman yep, having spent two hours sitting at Monasterevin station on Saturday morning, with no coffee and out of water, I can vouch for traveling the day before and planning supplies based on the old AD&D wilderness survival guide!
@donncha @stevenlawson if you hit the right time, the Roman amphitheater and walls near El Pimpi are good. (And it’s a good bar and restaurant as well. )

@harold in some UK supermarkets, they’ve put on extra security staff at exits to check bags.

Those self scan checkouts deprive folk of jobs and deny older people the opportunity to chat with the checkout staff. They also make the same per item profit for stores, but without wages, staff income taxes or payroll taxes so they reduce tax take: if govt were doing their math, they’d slap an automation tax on self checkouts

@shanvav @felwert Some folks will also remember “local” newspaper sites like the Lansing Sun as far back as 2016 which were certainly far right and possibly Russian backed. I didn’t bookmark the info back then, the best my Google-fu can find this morning is this https://eu.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2019/10/21/lansing-sun-new-sites-michigan-local-news-outlets/3984689002/
Dozens of new websites appear to be Michigan local news outlets, but with political bent

Websites branded as local news outlets launched throughout Michigan, promising local news but offering with it some right-leaning political stories.

@michaelc I have 4 colours of uniball: black for main notes, red to flag action items, blue for odd ideas peripheral to the meeting I’m in and green for really weird stuff.

Mind you, the black gets less use now that I take meeting notes with a fountain pen and then transfer them to digital as needed.

I also have fine whiteboard markers and small white board cards for plotting or mapping, often by sticking them on the blackboard behind me.

@jslr @cristhomas A lot of the history of PKM was about efforts to work out how to do this: John Locke’s work (yes, him died 1704) was on how to index a common place book. Coleridge, the romantic poet, struggled with it as well. Jillian Hess has a good but not light book on it.
@longrun_vt the Cubicle 7 travel mechanics are excellent; you can undoubtedly use them in other games: that’s makes it worthwhile
